A beach proposal setup in South Florida — floral arch, rose petals, and candles by Forever Lovies
Planning a marriage proposal in South Florida? One of the first questions we hear from every couple: "How much is this going to cost?"
Honest answer: it depends on what you want. But we can walk you through exactly what goes into a proposal setup here — the real numbers, not vague ranges — so you can plan with confidence.
What Does a Proposal Setup Actually Cost in South Florida?
At Forever Lovies, our proposal packages start at $800. Most couples who want a complete, memorable setup — floral arch, rose petals, candles, the full scene — invest around $1,400 to $2,000.
Here's the honest breakdown of where the money goes:
| What You're Getting | Price Range |
|---|---|
| Basic floral setup (petals, candles) | $800–$1,000 |
| Floral arch + rose aisle + candles | $1,200–$1,600 |
| Full luxury setup with marquee letters | $1,600–$2,500+ |
| Add-on: Professional photographer | $300–$600 |

What's Included in a Proposal Package?
Every setup we do includes setup, styling, and breakdown — you don't carry a single thing. What's actually in the package depends on which option you choose, but here's what a typical mid-range setup ($1,200–$1,600) looks like:
- Floral arch — heart, round, or rectangular, with white or blush flowers
- Rose petal aisle or ground pattern
- Candles (floor candles, pillar candles, or a lantern arrangement)
- Optional: Marquee letters spelling MARRY ME or your initials
- Optional: Champagne, wine, or a dessert arrangement
- Setup and breakdown by our team
What's not included by default: a photographer. We strongly recommend adding one — the moment passes fast, and you'll want photos. We can connect you with a local photographer for an additional $300–$600.
Does It Cost More to Propose on a Beach?
Usually, no — the setup cost is the same whether you're on a beach in Fort Lauderdale, a rooftop in Miami, or a park in Boca Raton. What can add cost is a location permit. Most South Florida beaches are public and don't require permits for small private setups. Some parks do. We handle all permit coordination for the locations we work in.

How Far in Advance Do I Need to Book?
For most setups, 1–2 weeks is enough notice. For Valentine's Day, New Year's Eve, or any major holiday weekend — plan 4–6 weeks ahead. Those dates fill up fast.
If you need a permit for your location, build in 3–4 weeks minimum. Some parks in Miami-Dade require advance applications.
What If I Have a Specific Budget?
Tell us what you're working with. We've helped couples make $900 feel like $1,500 by focusing on the right elements — good flowers, good light, smart placement. And we've helped couples who wanted to go all out do something genuinely spectacular.
The budget conversation is always the first one we have. No surprises, no upselling once you're in.
The details make the difference — rose petals, candles, and a flower box as part of the setup
